We often talk about the Christian faith in simple terms, and the faith is simple. And yet, there are large areas of disagreement between Christians. A number of these relate to the assumptions we bring to the Bible and its interpretation, and the way in which one belief relates to another. In this class we will consider the connections between beliefs so that we can understand our own faith better, as well as understanding how and why we differ from others.
Starting January 30, 2011
Topics will include: Calvinism and Arminianism; Liberalism, Neo-Orthodoxy, and Evangelicalism; Dispensationalism and Covenantalism; and others.
Don’t be scared off by the big words, we’ll explain it all. You may be surprised to discover your own assumptions, and how they impact your own understanding. Do your understandings rightly reflect the teachings of scripture?
