We are so excited that fall is here, meaning the beginning of our new year. We have moved our 4 and 5 year old preschoolers to our two Pre K classes. We have a few spots available in those classrooms if you know of anyone with a child who will be entering kindergarten next year, and who would care to enroll him or her.
We finished our first week with a Luau! There were many games, crafts and yummy food. Our children invited special guests last week as we celebrated Grandparent’s Day. It was so nice to meet so many of you who attended. We had a lot of fun getting to know you, and hope you enjoyed yourselves as well. Please check your child’s newsletters and menu/calendar to keep up with our special days. If your child is not scheduled for a party day or a day we go on a field trip, just let us know you would like him or her to attend. We are happy to have your child participate!
Next month, we will have some visitors from our local police, ambulance and fire companies, for Fire Prevention and Safety Week. Don’t be alarmed if you see flashing lights or hear sirens. These first responders are generously giving of their time to teach your children. They also allow them to climb in and through their vehicles and make learning fun. We have a field trip planned for October 24th. This is for the Preschool and Pre K classes. We will be boarding our big yellow bus and traveling to New Sewickley Township to Yeck’s Farm. There we will go on a hay ride, pet some friendly animals and enjoy some other fall activities. After we have all that fun, we will eat our packed lunches and receive a gift bag and a pumpkin to take home with us. Look for permission slips closer to the field trip. October 31st will be our Harvest Party! We don’t wear our costumes for this party, just have a lot of fun! Feel free to send in a treat for your child’s classmates, if you wish. but don’t worry, they will take plenty home with them! And in keeping with the fall activities, save the date for Mt. Pleasant’s Trunk or Treat. It will be held on Saturday, October 28th at 1:00 pm. Our youth group “The Way” is very involved in this, and it’s always a lot of fun!
We have an employment opportunity for someone who would be qualified to be our caregiver in the Tiny Tot Room. If you or someone you know would be interested, please call the office, to find out the requirements for this job. You may have noticed that our cook, Miss Liz, has not been in the kitchen for a few weeks. She has had some minor surgery, but will return soon. Thank you to all staff who have stepped up to cook while she is out. Hers is not an easy job!
We will be better at posting activities on this website page, as to keep you as informed as possible, and as always, please do not hesitate to let us know of any concern you may have. We love your child, and want to do the best for each and every one of them.
