This year is coming to an end so very quickly, and we have had so much fun already. We were very dissapointed that we had to cancel the field trips to the nursing homes last month, but we had so many children with a stomach virus, that we didn’t want to share that with the residents. We will reschedule a visit after the holidays.
As we are moving toward winter weather, we may need to delay or close. If this becomes necessary. we will notify KDKA radio and TV. We will also post the closures on the webpage and the Facebook page.
The PreK classes enjoyed a visit to Allison’s Tree Farm last week. They got to go for a wagon ride and warmed up with hot chocolate in the tree barn. This week the PreSchool and PreK are going to the Vicary House in Freedom and lunching at McDonald’s in Center Twp. This is such a nice trip. The volunteers at the Vicary House are all dressed in period costumes and tell about European Christmas customs. The children make an advent wreath, enjoy cookies and juice, dress up and act out the Nativity Story, and meet Father Christmas.
This month the children will be learning the letters G, H and I. Christmas week and Winter week are celebrated this month as well. Jesus’ birthday party will be held on Friday, December 20th. We welcome anyone who would like to volunteer with the party or any of the trips. Just let the office staff aware that you would like to help.
The members of the Mt. Pleasant Mission team are selling cookie trays again this year. The trays cost $25.00 and contain four dozen cookies. All the money will benefit the Honduras Mission. Please sign the sheet in the office if you would like to purchase a tray. They will be available for pick up on Tuesday, December 17th.
We would like to congratulate Miss Michelle and her husband Jeremy on the birth of their son! Carter Ray Samuel was born December 5th and weighed 6 pound, 6 ounces and 18 1/2 inches long. Everyone is well and doing great.
