It’s Summer!

We have had a fun filled summer so far, full of so many activities.  Following our Pre K graduation, we learned about insects, had breakfast with Dad, learned about construction and zoo animals, and had a bicycle parade to celebrate Independence day.  We went on a field trip to the movies and to McDonald’s and received so many compliments about how well behaved we were.  We had Patriotic week, and now we are celebrating  Olympic week.  Some students from Child Evangelism Fellowship have been spending time with the school aged children this week, telling them Bible stories,  teaching them songs and putting on skits.  They will be holding a Day Camp in Darlington at the end of the month. If anyone is interested in sending their child, there is more information in the office.  Our bus is being used to transport the children to and from camp, so your child could catch the bus here at the child care.  This camp is for children who have completed Kindergarten through Fifth grade.

The week of July 22nd is VBS Week.  Mt. Pleasant Church holds their classes in the evening and we are following the same schedule of lessons in the morning.  If you want your child to attend in the evening, please find a registration form in the office.  You need not do anything for the morning classes.  We will include you child in VBS with the child care staff.  We will finish the month with Beach week.

We are planning two more field trips this summer, so look for information regarding those activities.

We have moved the PreK, and Tiny Toddlers into the new wing of our building, and are making headway into the refurbishing of the former wing.  We should be moved in by the end of summer.

We are sad to announce that our Nikki Kondik, who worked for years with our School Age Children, has been hired on for a full time job with Central Valley School District, and is leaving us.  She will finish this month by working Fridays only.  We would like to thank her for all her years of service, and know that we, as well as the students here will miss her greatly.
