I’ve Got Good News

“I’ve got good news….”  Those words are usually the start of the sentence: “I’ve got good news and bad news; which do you want to hear first?”  Usually when asked that question, I’ll take the bad news first.  I prefer to get it out of the way.  And the bad news for us spiritually is: we are sinners; the wages of sin is death; God is holy and just.  But…the good news of Jesus Christ?  Wow, it is glorious good news!  Yet, most Christians are a little embarrassed by this news.  The thought of telling others the good news causes fear and anxiety.  Most feel totally inadequate to share the good news with others (or even articulate what the good news is).  We must recover the glorious assurance that what we believe truly is good news – and be transformed from fearful to faithful in sharing it with others.  We are in the midst of a six week sermon series in which we refocus our attention on the glory of the good news, and work toward growing in our willingness and ability to share it.  I hope you will be prayerfully discerning how God can use you as his ambassador, gladly proclaiming in word and deed the good news of Jesus.
