Legacy of Faith, A Sermon Series

Queen Elizabeth I’s last words are reputed to be, “All my possessions for a moment of time!”  That’s sad.  It doesn’t indicate a sense of completion, of satisfaction, of peace.  How very different the words of the apostle Paul, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith!”  Paul is confident in his destiny, in his identity, in the meaning of his life.  And he is confident in his legacy, the legacy of faith he leaves behind in his spiritual son, Timothy.  What is your legacy?  For an  American in the lower 50% of wealth, the average financial legacy is $9,700.  That’s not much.  But the legacy of faith is an inheritance of infinite value.  Consider with us the legacy of faith as give ear to what the Spirit says through  2 Timothy.
